100 Views of a Town in Japan: Tulips

I missed seeing the tulip fields in my town this year. The picture above is from 3 years ago. I had planned to go this year, but I kept putting off visiting the fields even though I drove past the narrow road leading to it a few times each week. When I finally decided to go, the flags announcing the display of flowers were gone. The sign pointing to the road to it was down. The flowers were done blooming. It was too late. I had planned to go, but kept putting it off.

This time was a reminder for me. It is easy to miss out on what it right in front of me. I am not terribly sad about not seeing the tulips because I had seen them before, but I want to hold onto this slight feeling of loss as a reminder to take on other opportunities that come my way. There will be other things more important to me that I cannot afford to wait until it is too late. Spring comes ever year, but it will always be slightly different. Things cannot go back in time or stay the same for long. I must enjoy the flowers now.
